Jersey Wild Cats - Two wild cats, Cleopatra and Caesar, hunt throughout the village of Cranbury, avoiding human contact and navigating the challenges of suburban sprawl, commercial development, pollution, and fractured wildlife corridors that limit access to food, water, and shelter, while degrading the quality of life. Despite the solitary nature of wild cats, villagers encounter them on rare occasions prowling the landscape, and later delight in reporting sightings at a local diner where patrons compete in embellished storytelling about these remarkable felines. Soon, the cats become a celebrated curiosity for their rugged self-reliance that embodies the character of the community.

Cleo and Caesar interpret their escapades from a feline perspective, describing Cranbury’s countryside, history, traditions, village events, and personalities as imagined during the 1950s. The cats offer their perspective on civilization and life in the wild, hoping that humans will once again learn to live harmoniously with nature.

A chance encounter with a young family convinces the tabbies to accept their hospitality for the sake of safely birthing their kittens. However, as the village celebrates their arrival, unintended consequences separate the kittens from their parents. At the heart of this tragedy, an awkward child seeks the self-confidence he desires to overcome his insecurity from growing up under the shadow of older brothers who excel at everything. He hopes that adopting one of the celebrity kittens will make everything right in his life, but he overlooks one crucial detail. Now, he will have to compete with his siblings for his pet’s attention.

Jersey Wild Cats explores the experience of growing up in a small farming village among wild animals and unique personalities who shaped the character of the community.
